Is CarVIO a Legitimate Company?
If you have been looking to sell your used car, you’ve probably come across CarVIO in your search. However, is CarVIO a legitimate company? The quick answer: Yes.
Read on for CarVIO reviews and all you need to know about selling your car with CarVIO.
What is CarVIO?
CarVIO is a company that will pay you for your used vehicle. They will purchase practically any car and make the transaction hassle-free. They handle all DMV paperwork for a stress-free experience. CarVIO specializes in the buying of used cars, not in selling them. So, you can expect money in hand without any pressure to swap, upgrade, or buy.
Is CarVIO Legit?
CarVIO is a legit company that has been licensed, insured, and bonded. They pay you cash or will issue a check of up to $5,000 per vehicle. With an A+ rating and great CarVIO reviews on the Better Business Bureau, you can have peace of mind that CarVIO is a legitimate company.
How Does CarVIO work?
Selling your car online is effortless with CarVIO. The process of selling your car with CarVIO is as follows:
1. Tell CarVIO about your car.
Head to the CarVIO website and provide some contact details. Then, tell CarVIO a little about your car. Include details like the make, model, year, and condition of the vehicle. The more detailed information you can provide about the car’s condition, the more accurate the quote is.
2. CarVIO makes an offer.
Within moments, you will receive an offer for your car. CarVIO gives you five days before the offer expires to accept or reject it. This gives you plenty of time to shop around, though you will find that CarVIO often offers fair prices for used cars.
I filled out the form and in a few minutes received a text message, email, and a call. I wasn’t available for a call so I texted them back the information they needed and received a quote via email shortly after.
3. CarVIO buys your car
Once you have accepted the offer, CarVIO will pick up your car with payment in hand. You will schedule a pick-up at a convenient time. Or, get a higher price for your car if you bring it in yourself. Either way, you get paid for selling a used car.
What Information Does CarVio Need for a Quote?
Immediately after filling out the online form, you will be asked more specific questions about your car. Here are the questions I was asked.
- Is the title printed in your name by the DMV without any liens or loans on the vehicle?
- Do you happen to have the VIN -or- know the exact series/version/trim of the vehicle?
- Does it start and drive?
- If it doesn’t, can you please describe the mechanical issues
- Does the vehicle have any cosmetic damages (dents, rust, other damage)?
- How many miles?
- Any missing major parts? (tires, catalytic converter, etc)
- What’s your zip code?
What Types of Cars Does CarVIO Buy?
CarVIO will buy any used vehicle. And when they say any, they mean any. CarVIO purchases any make and model in any condition. Regardless of if your car has been:
- Damaged and wrecked
- Totaled in an accident
- Has high mileage
- Unable to pass smog checks
Whether your car is running, slow running, or never to start again, CarVIO will buy it.
How Much Can I Get For My Car?
The exact amount you can get paid for your car with CarVIO will depend on the car. CarVIO uses advanced technology to calculate fair market rates when placing a bid for your used car. CarVIO pays up to $5,000.00 for a used vehicle and you can sell multiple at once.
CarVIO Reviews: The Good
With an Excellent 4.5/5 Rating on TrustPilot and an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau, there are a lot of stellar CarVIO reviews. Check out some of the amazing things people are saying about selling their used cars with CarVIO.
“I was super skeptical on using an online company, BUT they were AMAZING ! Gave me a quote and within two days picked my vehicle up and cashed my check the same day! They gave me a great price better than I got with anyone else. Highly recommend them.”
-Patricia Martinez
Overall my experience with CarVIO was outstanding. The entire process was flawlessly smooth, but the best part hands down was the customer service and kindness displayed by the person that assisted me, Tamara P. Her sympathetic ear and reassurance made what was a fairly difficult time – vehicle dying unexpectedly on the side of the road – considerably better. Her clear, fast, and thorough communication could not have made the process any more simple. I first spoke with her on a Thursday afternoon and the vehicle was gone and check in my hand by 2pm Monday, exactly as she explained.”
-Rich
These guys are great! They offered me more than I thought I would get, and everything went smoothly after that. Car was picked up yesterday and I deposited the check last night. I highly recommend this service.”
-Lisa
“Very happy with my experience
Very happy with my experience with CarVIO. Very quick and fair deal. My non-running car was picked up by a tow truck and taken away as we exchanged pink slip for a check. I would highly recommend if you have a car you need to get rid of.”

CarVIO Reviews: The Bad
The best way to tell if a company is legitimate is to also check that there are some bad reviews out there. Not everyone can be completely satisfied all the time, so understanding where CarVIO may fall short helps tell if CarVIO is a legitimate company. So, what are negative CarVIO reviews saying?
“Deal was made for my Ford and pick up scheduled for 5 days later with a 5-hour window. I called on the pick-up day to get a better idea of time (I am 30 mins away from the vehicle) and, just like the others who have posted here, they needed to cancel and reschedule. Seem standard procedure for them. I will take $75 less from another company.”
- Scott Cross
Negative CarVIO review on Google Reviews.
“CARVIO did not deliver as promised
It took over a week to finally make contact with the company to pick up my vehicle and the driver forgot the check enroute to pick up my vehicle needless to say I went with another company since I waited 7 days with no resolution.”
-Louie
The company did respond to this negative CarVIO review within twenty-four hours, showing its ability to take feedback and use it to improve future customer service.

Is CarVIO worth it?
Many car buyers are looking for cars they can put back on the road, but CarVIO will take even the cars that others will not. Junk, scrap, even if it only has three wheels. They make the transaction effortless, either coming to you or adding a little extra to your payout if you bring it to them.
Selling your used car with CarVIO is worth it if you have a car that is hard to get off your hands and is not worth more than $5,000.
CarVIO is a legitimate company worth using if you have an old car you want to turn into cash. If you have a higher value car that still runs and is in great condition you may want to check out other car buying services as they may offer you more.
For me personally, because my car is in good condition and still runs I would not sell it for the $900 they offered. Especially because according to Kelley Blue Book (KBB.com), I might be able to get between $1400-$2200 if I wanted to trade it in instead.
But if you’re someone trying to just get rid of your old car and don’t want to have to deal with trade-ins or trying to sell privately then CarVIO may be worth it to you. They take care of everything and you avoid the hassles.
My suggestion is to always get at least three quotes or more and see where you can get the best deal. Check out other car buying websites like Peddle for example and then decide which one you prefer.
Just Horrible…I got offer, signed contract and then received the following text
Hi This is Anthony with Carvio, So as it turns out we wont be able to Offer you the $5,900 for the Vehicle, there was a Issue with our Quote system and we wont be able to be anywhere close to that Same offer. I am sorry for the Inconvenience.
Not “inconvenience ” its bad business
Hi Elizabeth! Oh, that really stinks. Did they send you a new offer or give any further explanation? Does the contract hold them to the offer? You can also try Carmax and Carvana and see what they offer you. Hope you get a resolution.
