MONEY SAVING PRODUCTS
Sometimes you have to spend a little money up front to save a lot in the long run. There are a lot of products you buy over and over again and can easily be replaced with better options.
We all have items in our budget that can be cut out without making a huge sacrifice and can be replaced with more affordable options!
Things that you buy once and will save you from having to keep buying other products over and over again. Products that will protect your investments and save you money.
Check out this list of money saving products that you can buy once and eliminate the need for other items in your budget.
PRODUCTS THAT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY IN THE LONG RUN
Wool Dryer Balls
If you do a lot of laundry, you’re probably spending a lot of money on dryer sheets. I have sensitive skin so I was never a huge fan of dryer sheets but I do like soft clothes and no static so I had to come up with another option.
I discovered wool dryer balls! I use Molly’s Wool Dryer Balls and I love them. Wool dryer balls are reusable natural fabric softener and can reduce drying time by 15-30%.
Glass Phone Screen Protector
If you’re going to spend an arm and a leg on a cell phone than you need to protect it!
Gone are the days of those cheap plastic screen covers that are impossible to put on without bubbles or lint (well for me anyway). I have bought tempered glass screen protectors for my phone since I first discovered them and they have saved me many times!
Plus they are super affordable and often come in a 3 pack for less than $10.
Good Quality Phone Case
Along with the tempered glass screen protector, you should also have a good quality phone case. I got this one below for my iPhone 6s and it was only around $16 at the time I purchased it. So for under $25 (case and screen protector) I was able to protect my expensive device because I plan on keeping it for a very long time.
Stop buying paper towels and use hand towels. I’m embarrassed to admit that if there are napkins and paper towels around that I use a lot of them! If I had to buy paper towels and napkins I would be spending a lot of money even though I use coupons and can get them at a great price.

Replacing napkins and paper towels with some nice absorbent hand towels is a great way to save money! The one issue I did have with my hand towels was they kept falling on the floor so I now use these hanging hand towels because they stay in place on my towel holder.
If you bake a lot, you can spend a lot of money on cooking sprays and parchment paper. If you buy reusable baking mats you can cut out sprays and parchment paper from your budget.
I like these Silchef Silicone Baking Mats because they are non-toxic and FDA approved. Plus they are super affordable!
Reusable Travel Mug
Most of us know that making our drinks at home will save us a bunch of money. Having a nice travel mug that can keep our cold drinks cold and warm drinks warm is a great way to make bringing our drinks with us easier and more convenient.
The Chillout Life mug is a great affordable example but there are many others out there.
A food Dehydrator a great way to save money on dried fruit and jerky treats. I bought one a few years ago and love it. You can dry a bunch of fruits and turn them into fruit snacks for your family.
I also use it to make beef jerky which if you have ever purchased is really expensive to buy. You can save a lot of money with this machine. I have one from Nesco but there are many options out there.
You can check out some on Amazon here.
This one is a no-brainer. Bottled water costs a lot of money and replacing bottled water with a water pitcher is a great way to save. They come in all sizes and shapes so there is sure to be one that fits your needs.
You can even get a faucet filter if that works better for you.
I buy a lot of produce and I really hate that it goes bad so quickly so investing in a Produce saver was a must. A produce saver can keep Produce fresh up to 80% longer.
For the drawers already in your refrigerator, you can grab these fruit and veggie life extender drawer liners.
Avoid using your dryer and save on your electricity and/or gas bills by hang drying your clothes. Hang dry your clothes on a dryer rack like the one below or string them on a line in your basement or outside.
A programmable thermostat is great so that you’re not having to manually adjust your room temperature all the time. You can set it up to be a certain temp during certain times of the day or while your away.
If you want to get fancy you can opt for a Wifi enabled Smart Thermostat which will allow you to set and monitor your thermostat from anywhere! I just invested in a Nest Thermostat when I got in on sale.
This is obviously a larger investment but it will be a one-time investment that will pay off in the long run. A Chest Freezer is a great way to stock up on sale items and if you’re doing freezer meals than having an additional freezer is great.
