RebateKey has kindly sponsored this post but all opinions are my own.
RebateKey almost seems too good to be true, this is why I decided to check it out for myself. As someone who loves to shop on Amazon, I was definitely intrigued by the amount of Amazon rebates they offer.
After seeing a few ads about RebateKey, I decided to sign up, give them a try, and share my experience.
Is RebateKey legit?
If you’re doubting the legitimacy of RebateKey, let me just start by saying yes they are legit and they do payout like they say they do. Below is a screenshot of my first payout (I chose to get an Amazon gift card).
If you need more validation they also have an A- rating with the BBB and growing reviews on Trustpilot.
HOW DOES REBATEKEY WORK?
RebateKey gives you direct access to manufacturers’ deals, coupons, and rebates. They list all the deals on their site and show the rebate amount and coupon code value so you can see how much you’re saving.
To claim a rebate, simply go through the link on Rebatekey to the manufacturer’s website (ex. Amazon) and purchase the product.
After you purchase the product, you then need to report your order number to RebateKey right away. Once the seller verifies your order, RebateKey will approve your rebate and the rebate amount will be credited to your account.
One important thing to note is that your funds will be held for 35 days to make sure there is no error or product returns. After that, you can cash out for a check, cash to PayPal, or a gift card.
For coupon codes, simply use the coupon code provided on the RebateKey website and apply it at checkout on the manufacturers’ website to get instant savings. As you can see from the screenshot below, Rebatekey makes it super easy to just copy and paste the code with a click of a button.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU MAKE FROM REBATEKEY?
RebateKey is a deal and rebate site so you’ll basically save money or “make” as much as you spend. If you want to make a little extra money from RebateKey, you can refer friends and get a small commission from that, but for the most part, you’re getting reimbursed for some or all of your purchases made through them.
HOW DOES REBATEKEY MAKE MONEY?
RebateKey makes money by charging Amazon sellers a fee for every customer they send their way. This fee doesn’t apply to your order or change what you pay.
Amazon sellers are happy to pay the fee because with each purchase of their products they are getting new customers.
PROS AND CONS OF REBATEKEY
You can pretty much see some of the pros already, but lets go through a list of pros and cons:
Pros of RebateKey:
It’s free to use RebateKey
Sign up here for free and verify your account to start getting rebates and discounts.
You can get free stuff
Obviously, this is the biggest pro for using RebateKey. You get free stuff and who doesn’t like free?
You can save money on items you buy anyway
You’re making purchases anyway, why not save some money and get cash back?
You get to try out some cool new things
I’m loving being able to grab some items I wouldn’t normally budget for, at a deep discount or free. With the 100% back rebates, you can pretty much try all sorts of interesting things you would have never thought to buy.
Cons of RebateKey
Buying things you don’t need
I’ve definitely been caught in the trap of buying things because they are dirt cheap or free! Who can pass up free right? So just be careful not to fill your home with unnecessary products and packages that never get opened. Use RebateKey as a way to get a discount on items you would buy anyway and maybe some fun gifts for yourself and others.
35 day waiting period
Even though your account is credited right away, you need need to wait 35 days to cash out your balance. Again, this is so that they can make sure you didn’t return the item.
Free stuff goes fast
The free 100% rebate offers do go fast but you can opt to get notified when they’re available again. This is how I was able to get a few items I was wanting but had sold out quickly.
Can be addicting
Sites like this can be addicting. You can get bargain fever and find yourself constantly checking the website, so be aware.
My RebateKey Review & EXPERIENCE
Now that you know how RebateKey works and that they pay, let’s go over my experience.
I ordered my first item from RebateKey on January 14th, 2021, and was reimbursed on February 18th, 2021. I’ve since ordered three more items waiting for payout.
What did I get?
Below are some of the items I was able to get for free or over 80% off. I’ve been wanting the bamboo utensils (pictured below) for a while, so when I saw they had an 80% off rebate, I jumped on it.
I was able to score them for just $3! The rest of the items pictured were free after the rebate.
I’ve also got my eyes on some pots and plant hangers next. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s kind of addicting!
REBATEKEY TIPS
Since I’ve been using RebateKey for over a month now, I wanted to share some useful tips to help you get the most out of it.
Filter & Sort
There are a ton of products on the website to look through, be sure to use the filter and search options to find just what you’re looking for. If you’re looking to just find the best deals, be sure to filter the results by “discount amount”. This will show 100% rebate items first and so on.
Don’t Use Any Outside Coupon or Promo Codes
Don’t use outside coupon codes in conjunction with Rebatekey as it may void your rebate. Shop directly through Rebatekey and pay the full price listed on Rebatekey. If there’s a discrepancy in price contact the seller (through the RebateKey website) and let them know before purchasing.
Roll your Rebates!
I opted for Amazon gift cards for payout so that I can keep rolling my gift cards to buy more RebateKey items. This way I am not using my money and waiting to get reimbursed. I just keep using my Amazon gift cards over and over again.
Get Amazon Prime
RebateKey has a ton of Amazon deals so having Amazon Prime would be beneficial. You can grab a free 30-day trial here.
Are you a student? Get 6 months free here. Do you have an EBT or Medicaid card? Get a discount on Prime here.
