Today Mrs. Accountability from Out of Debt Again and I are exchanging question and answer posts. Mrs. Accountability writes about how her family is trying to get out of debt again. After you read her answers here, go over to her site and read my answers. And while you’re at her site, take a look around and subscribe to her blog!

Mrs. Accountability, do you have a piggy bank? What do you use to collect your coins?

I don’t have a piggy bank, but my husband uses various jars to keep our change in. We have quite a few jars full of change. My husband keeps saying he’s going to roll them and take them in to the bank but he never does.

Do you DIY oil changes or take it to a shop?

My husband takes care of the oil changes and similar type maintenance on our vehicles. On rare occasions I have used one of the speed lube type shops for an oil change.

Do you do your own income taxes, or pay someone to do them for you?

I have done my taxes myself every year, with the exception of 2007 when we used a tax preparer, with whom I was not impressed, so I did our taxes for 2008. For 2009, I am probably going to have my accountant/consultant take a look at our taxes since they are getting a bit more complicated since my husband owns two businesses of his own.

If you had $1000 to spend right now, and you could not put it
toward debt or save it, you HAD to spend it, what would you buy
yourself?

I would invest the money in my new office that my husband is supposed to build for me this year. My current “office” is roughly 5 feet by 7 feet. It is hard to work in this small area, which is actually one corner of the living room.

Would you ever hire a live-in housekeeper?

I’d have to be living in a lot bigger house in order to have a live-in housekeeper! If I had the money and a bigger house, I probably would! I’d also love to have some help with the livestock and my garden. Maybe I should have had more children. ;-)

What is your favorite cheap snack?

My favorite cheap snack would be popcorn. Another of my current favorites, although not really cheap, are raw almonds.

What car would you drive if money were absolutely no object?

I really love my Pathfinder, so even though money were no object, I would probably buy a 2005 Pathfinder to replace my 1996 (I am not sure I could ever bring myself to buy a brand new vehicle).

Thank you, Mrs. Accountability! Now go on over to Mrs. Accountability’s, read my answers to the same questions and take a look around!
